Google+

Google+ has been around now for 5 years and has seen many changes from launching as an invite only Beta in mid 2011. Rupert first received his invitation a couple of days after the launch and spent a while stumbling around this new network, making new contacts and generally kicking the tires to see how it worked. Over the next couple of years a smallish network of contacts were created representing various personal interests, while enjoying experimenting with features as they were added. In 2013 a conversation with a friend made through Google+, introduced Rupert to the concept of Google's Top Contributor Program. This program provides an official support channel for users, and training, mentoring and experience for volunteers to progress to a stage where Google officially recognise them as 'experts' in the product they are supporting.

In late summer 2014, Rupert progressed to the level of being officially recognised as a Top Contributor in the Google+ Help community, and was made a moderator in this official Google owned community, and also attended his first Google Summit with other Google Top Contributors in London. Since then he has attended summits in Dublin and San Francisco and assisted hundreds, if not thousands of users with queries and questions.
